Refreshing Saffron Mango Lassi

Lassi is a traditional Indian beverage. Lassi is a yogurt based drink and might be sweet lassi or salty lassi.

Sweet Lassi is a mixture of yogurt with spices, milk /rose water and fruits such as mangoمانگو, strawberries توت فرنگی or lemon لیمو ترش. It is flavoured with cardamom, saffron and rose water.

Salty Lassi is a mixture of yogurt with water and salt. Salty Lassi is called Doogh in Iran and is one of most popular drinks in Iran.

Saffron Mango Lassi

  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp cold milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp saffron water
  • 1 tbsp chopped pistachio
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  1. Peel and chop mangos.



  2. Place chopped mangos, sugar, milk, yogurt, saffron water, and cardamom in a blender.



  3. and blend for couple of minutes until smooth.



  4. Pour it in glasses and sprinkle chopped pistachio.



مانگو لاسی

انبه که در انگلیسی مانگو گفته میشه از میوه‌هایی هست که در هند بسیارپر طرفدار هست و ترشی و نوشیدنی های خوشمزه ای با اون درست میشه. یکی از نوشیدنی های بسیار معروف هندی که در همه ی رستوران‌های هندی هم حتمن سرو میشه مانگو لاسی نام داره.

لاسی نوشیدنی هست که با ماست درست میشه و دونوع هست. لاسی شیرین و لاسی نمکی یا نمکین.

لاسی شیرین از مخلوط ماست با ادویه هایی مثل هل – زعفران و میوه‌هایی مثل منگوتوت فرنگی – لیمو ترش – گلاب – پسته درست میشه وغلیظ هست . لاسی نمکی هم از مخلوط ماست با آب و نمک درست میشه که همون دوغ خودمون هست.

منگولاسی دربین انواع لاسی از محبوبیت جهانی برخوردار هست . این نوشیدنی در اروپا و آمریکا با بستنی و خامه سرو میشه و زمان سرو کردن روی منگو لاسی با پسته خرد شده تزیین میشه.

تهیه این نوشیدنی خوشمزه در5 دقیقه انجام میشه . منگو لاسی رو میشه ساده درست کرد و یا با چند نخ زعفران طعم دار کرد . منگو لاسی زعفرانی از محبوبیت زیادی برخوردار هست. در تهیه غذاهای هندی چون از ادویه های زیاد و تند و تیز استفاده میشه برای همین منظوراین نوع نوشیدنی ها حتمن واجب هست.

مواد لازم

 دو عددانبه

دو پیمانه ماست

یک ق چ زعفران دم کرده

یک ق غ شکر یا عسل

دو ق غ شیر

یک ق چ هل

یک ق غ پسته خرد شده

طرز تهیه

انبه را پوست گرفته و خرد کنید. همه ی مواد را داخل مخلوط کن ریخته و به صورت پوره درآورید. داخل ظرف مورد نظر ریخته و با پسته خرد شده سرو کنید.

Iranian food is a celebration of flavor, colour and spices such as: saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, dried rose petals, dried limes, cumin, .... I share my recipes in Farsi/English along with step by step photos of preparation. I take all my own pictures. I have learned my traditional Persian and Azerbaijani recipes from my lovely mother, and she has learned from her mother. Over the years, I have experimented and learned more recipes. Some of my recipes are a fusion Western and Middle Eastern cuisine. Some are forgotten from Persian cooking tables and I try with posting and sharing those ones, to preserve them.
